Accomplishing Goals

Tomorrow is a big day for me. My first full-length novel launches for sale on June 1. I’ve written other books before, but this is my first full-length novel. I’ve been working on this book for the last year and it’s finally ready for publishing. Millennium: Preparations Begin is the first book in my Millennium Series. Periodically during my mglifebygreg blogs, I discuss staying active, keeping your mind active, setting goals and then going after those goals. Writing a full-length novel was a goal I had set for myself and I’ve now accomplished this with my new book. I’ve not only accomplished my original goal, but I’ve pushed the goal posts back by extending my goal. This new book is the first book in my Millennium Series. That means I can’t take my foot off the gas; I’ve got to keep going.

With Myasthenia Gravis, we’re sometimes limited by the physical things we’re no longer able to do, however, MG normally doesn’t affect our minds. There will be times of fogginess, and we may become a little forgetful once in a while, but normally our minds stay intact. We need to continue exercising our minds to keep them strong and healthy. Writing is the way I’ve chosen to do that for myself.

I understand not everyone is into writing, but you have other interests. Maybe it’s reading, maybe it’s crafts, maybe it’s bird watching. I encourage you to utilize those interests to establish some goals for yourself. Challenge your mind and your abilities. When we do that, we’re not only helping ourselves physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
