Halloween is almost upon us, so I thought I’d share a Halloween joke.
A vampire bat came flapping into his cave one night covered in fresh blood. All the other bats looked at him in awe and asked, “Where’d you get that blood?”
The first bat grinned and said, “Follow me!”
He led them to a dark forest, swooping between the trees, faster and faster. Finally, he stopped and pointed, “See that big tree over there?”
The other bats nodded eagerly.
“Good,” he said, “Because I didn’t!”
I’ve slammed into a few trees before in my life. Came out bloody. Maybe a little smarter. It’s all part of growing up. If we never venture out, we never learn. This bat was smart enough to share what he had learned with his friends.
If I’ve learned one thing in my life, it’s to trust God. He gets me through anything. There may be times when I hit a few trees, but I usually learn a lesson in the process. He gave us free will and the ability to make our own decisions. Sometimes we choose the right path and sometimes we don’t. Fortunately, he’s always there to catch us if we fall. That’s the lesson I’ve learned and want to share with you.
Choose better, save a tree!

Very thought provoking…it is a good idea for any of us to do. Sometimes when something bad happens to me I say “why God, why me.”
After some deep thinking, I usually can see what happened and see why. If I don’t, it will always come to me a ways down the road.
That is God’s way of blessing us and helping us from doing the same thing again.
I agree with you, Patricia. God blesses us in so many ways. I’ve learned that instead of saying, “Why me?”, that thought will lead me to “Why not me?”
Thanks for your comment, Patricia!
