i apologize for not having been able to write this last week. I came down with with of my infamous colds and it was a doozie. I had gotten extremely tired and that’s when I’m the most vulnerable.
I missed Christmas Eve services. I haven’t done that since the year I had mumps over Christmas many years ago. I also had to miss our annual Feast of Seven Fishes. Although we’re not Italian, we honor this tradition by cooking a dinner with seven different types of seafood. Needless to say, I didn’t get to help in the preparation. I also didn’t get to help in the eating. I just wasn’t feeling up to it.
I didn’t get to wrap gifts or arrange them under the tree, but I got to watch family members do so. It was a wonderful Christmas in spite of the cold. I am still pretty much confined to the bed or the couch, but it’s so much fun watching the little ones open their gifts.
Fortunately, I was able to eat Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day. We always have prime rib, my favorite. I had to forego dessert, however, as I can still only eat lightly.
Between adding all the extra meds to my daily regiment and nebulizer breathing treatments, I’m feeling a little better this morning. Still very tired and weak though and I know I still have to take it easy. I hate that part. It means everyone else has to do the jobs of which I should have been helping.
I’ll make this one short. I hoped you enjoyed your Christmas. If you’ll be traveling, travel safe.

Prayers that your cold doesn’t last much longer and you get your strength back quickly.
Thank you so much, Betty. After the steroids, antibiotics and nebulizer breathing treatments, I think I’m over the worst of it now. Still hacking, but no longer choking or gasping for air, so I think I’m on the mend. Your thoughts and prayers were very much appreciated. You’re a very good and kind person.

Greg, Hoping you will be feeling better soon. Praying that you will.
Thank you so much, Peter. After steroids, antibiotics and nebulizer breathing treatments, I think I’m finally on the right track. Still coughing, but not choking, so that’s a relief. Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers. They were very much appreciated.
